Infusing education with fantasy to increase repeatability and differentiate
Winners of an international competition, Kevin and Team developed the concept, master plan, and schematic design for this hybrid oceanarium / theme park, working closely with the Shanghai-based design institute and the Dalian-based client. The theme park's story, characters, and architectural language ties together the ocean, the earth, magic, and a conservation message in unique ways using the tales of animals as the starting point.
Changsha Joy Ocean Park
Master Planning and Concept Design for an ocean-themed park in this Hunan Province city. Concept included the master plan, three thematic areas, creation of mascot characters, attraction concepts, and strategic attraction selection for competitive market positioning.
